I guess I was always a photographer, even before I

actually became  one.  I've seen the shutter snapping on

moments in time for as long  as I can remember, but never

had the knowhow or tools to achieve my vision.

My name is Janelle Walker.  I moved to Tassie back in 2009 and by a fluke of luck in 2011 began years of study to achieve Diplomas in both Photo Imaging and Graphic Design.  I absolutely fell in love with photography, but always had an urge to take it that little bit further, pushing the boundaries, putting a piece of me into each image to create something a little more unique.  My work takes on a life of it’s own, beginning as a photograph, but sometimes morphing into a stunning watercolour bird or wildlife art image.

Tasmania is a photographer’s dream with abundant wildlife and scenic opportunities.  I photograph the beauty in nature that I see all around me, with a focus on birds and wildlife, and hope that by sharing that beauty and bringing it into people’s homes that they will develop an appreciation for those creatures, and an awareness of the struggles they face to survive.  The more we love something, the more we will want to protect it.
